Kristin Magnussen holds a PhD in Environmental and Resource Economics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), with specialization in non-market valuation of environmental goods, and a master’s degree in nature management and resource economics from the same university. She has more than 30 years of experience in government administration, research and reviews in resource management and environmental and economic analyses. Her special area of expertise is methods for assessing and valuing non-market goods, where she has completed numerous studies. She has worked with economic analysis, cost-benefit analysis, cost effectiveness analysis and impact assessments in several sectors, including the transport, environment and energy sectors. In recent years, she has worked extensively with studies related to ecosystem services. She has also worked extensively with water management, both freshwater and coast and ocean. Kristin has extensive experience working for Norwegian ministries and directorates, but also for organizations and private actors. She also has international experience, with projects for the Nordic Council of Ministers, EU research programs and the World Bank. She has worked with projects in Asia, Africa and South and Central America.
