Ana Faria Lopes is currently a PhD student at the University of Stavanger, under the supervision of Associate Professor Gorm Kipperberg and Henrik Lindhjem at MERE. The PhD thesis is focused on the economic valuation of coastal ecosystem services in Norway. She holds a masters degree in Economics from NOVA School of Business and Economics (Lisbon, Portugal). She has been working on environmental economics and policy for four years, on a variety of issues including economic valuation of forest ecosystems, environmental taxation in Europe, and electricity markets. Since 2014, her main area of focus has been valuation and sustainable management of coastal and marine ecosystem services, especially during a research assistantship at NOVA SBE concerning the economic potential of offshore wind energy.
